M235i 370hp tune

I found this garage in AbuDhabi, UAE that tunes the M235 to 370 hp,so i picked the phone and called them and what they do is.

1. they order a new ECU from Germany (cause the oem ECU is locked) and tune that to 370 hp
2. the other tune is that they install a powerbox + BMS filter only + wagner intercooler and tune that to 410 hp

we need experts thoughts on this, i don't want to harm my engine, what damage can this cause. filter and intercooler im sure is fine but the ECU and the powerbox im not sure about.

I'm no expert, but first question is the reputation and history of the tuner?

Numbers like 370 and 410 at the rear wheels on a dyno are serious numbers, this is more then a mild tune.

Wait for the M2?

Can you drop in a new ECU without the BMW software/hardware to recode the car and not get a tamper light?

I would also wonder at the long term druability of the stock rods, pistons, etc. at 410 wheel horse power.

Odds are, as notime alludes to, it will be cheaper, more reliable and come with all the other benefits (e.g. better suspension, better steering rack, electronically controlled LSD, less intrusive traction control, wider wheel arches and rims, etc.) of a real M car if you wait for the M2.

Your right, the car is engineered for such hp, but with this tune i think it will even be a M2 killer, and seriously the M235 has enough power to put a smile on your face so why put the engine under 410 hp pressure.

thnx anyways, i dont think ill be going for that tune.

i gave it a little thought, and i dont see why should i go through with the tune, and my main concern is that the car will drop collector value by such tune, its a M235 end of the day not an M2. ill just find another car to tune with less risk, just not this car.

thnx anyways

If Dinan comes out with a tune I'm 100% doing it.

Per Dinan's Facebook page:

"We've had the M235i on the chassis dyno all week and we're making some serious progress with the car. Stay tuned for updates on this wicked little machine very soon! #DinanDifference #M235i"

"Dinan Engineering It's coming guys! We promise!"

Wooooooo!
