BMS hits 539whp with the new M3!

Thought I'd share here. Fairly impressive results for a 100% stock car. Testing was done using a JB4 tuning system and ethanol mixed with 91 octane. Car is otherwise factory. 5th gear pulls.

The timing and boost is crazy! Congrats! This should be a 127 mph car easy.

Wouldn't be so sure , no power up top , and the car already is traction limited . It's a great midrange but after 5k ehhhh.

Very interesting. Never thought this car would get that kind of results. 500whp yes but not much over that. This is something that people are going to love.

We see the car can put some power down. The next thing is to see how the car will hold up before people start buying tunes.

Get your head straight. We're talking graphs here. It's too early to go off topic.

And it seems this is just the beginning. I didn't think we'd be seeing numbers like this so soon. I know lots of folks said that tuning would unleash the new ///M, and other said it's already tuned up. I was sort of in the second camp but am starting to believe the other way.

Cheers.

Interested to see if downpipes would help with that at all.

Most of the people who suggested that the motor had no steam left were those who were F8X detractors from the beginning. There are a few exceptions however (..yourself included). If this car had downpipes, exhaust, etc., we'd probably see +/- 550whp/600tq.

Looks like it needs to be shifted around 6000rpm to maximize the power under the curve. When you do the HP to weight ratios they come out similar to a tuned M5. So I'd guess traps are in the same high 120s ball park once everything is sorted.

Agreed , I was hoping the car would have a better top end , likely it's the smaller turbo size for responsiveness that's the issue .
