What type of TPMS do the Canadian cars have?

Sensors, or off ABS (like the E92)?

Off ABS... i hate it because I get false alarms. Got them on the E92 as well... arghhh.

What do you mean exactly? Do we need to buy the TPMS for the winter wheel set this time around? I'm guessing we don't?

There is no TPMS on Canadian cars. There is a flat tire monitor that measures the rotation of the wheels to determine a flat. Therefore, nothing in the wheel itself to worry about.

If you get wheels/tires with TPMS and put on a Canadian car, can you change the flat tire monitoring to the US version?

I'd love to know the answer to that question too. I've got a set of OEM 18's from the US with TPMS, that will be going on my Canadian M3 for winter.

If they are not compatible with cars built for the Canadian market, I'm also wondering if I should just have them removed...

I just unmounted stock tires today. There is a sensor in there! I guess the question is 1) is there a receiver on the car, and if so 2) how do we activate it
