emgine runs much cooler!!!

Removed under carriage cover, both engine, tranny
Removed coil cover under wipers, to let trapped hest escape
Changed coolant
Running for a month like this, temps stay around 230 with traffic

Finally yesterday, removed acoustic engine cover, been driving for two days now and my temps dont go above 220, that foam under the engine cover was trapping heat

Stay tuned, will update more

My car was CPO and did not come with foam on top of hood? My last 2 335's never went above 240degrees even in 100 degree traffic

I can't see your profile on the app. Why not just get an intercooler?

Keep the underbody trays on, they prevent a lot of crap from kicking up into your car and provide significant aero at higher speeds. But otherwise good deal. I ran sans engine cover for a bit, eventually all the valvetrain ticking etc got to bugging me.

OP, do you track this car? If don't know why would you care if the oil stays at 220-230f instead of 240f. You are still far from the limp mode temp.

As for the engine cover, leave it on if you don't want dirt, road salt, and rainwater building up there, especially if you removed the under tray. They might lead to have to deal with seized coils and injectors... There are some sensitive electronics under that cover.

^what this guy said

If you really want 220F get a larger core an and improved racing 215 thermo. That'll work great and no compromise anything important. Not as expensive as you'd think to get a larger oil cooler.

This is only used with water when you can't run coolant on tracks. Some guy's use it on here. If you want to combat heat you really need an upgraded oil cooler and cooling upgrades.

Why not use this: http://www.protuningfreaks.com/engin...w-n54-n55.html. Have friends that have use this to drop their temps.

Redline 5W-30

I achieved lower temps bY:

1. Eliminating the oil into the coolant via oil housing gasket failure.
2. Replacing the WP and thermostat
3. Replacing the coolant 50/50 with a dose WWetter
4. VC Gasket R&R
5. INTAKE Valve Clean
6. Last by not least changing to RL 5W-30

Oil temps are now in check (below 245)

The thermo bypass doesn't hurt your car. It works by let your oil run through your oil cooler at all time instead of only open when your car oil temp pass 250.
