Installed BOV- won't open under revving

Revving it sounds like its blowing off, but the actual piston in the BOV isn't moving at all it seems. BOV is from vendor so should be correct spring. 11psi Tial Q.

Normal?

you need to build boost under load.

I thought so as well, but a few videos I've seen show it opening and closing revving in their driveway. Different spring?

maybe a softer spring and depends on the bov. I wouldn't worry about it on stock boost levels as long as i'ts opening under load and there are no boost leaks.

Under load while driving on map 1 it's opening properly, and gauge hijack shows proper boost. Ill drive it a bit to confirm. Likely breaking the piston free.

You have to rev the crap out of it to build significant boost in neutral. As long as it opens when letting off under load you're fine.

My night has sucked hahaha, but it's evening itself out. After some driving it sounds normal to me.

The vacuum line nipple attached to the intake manifold actually broke. We we're able to use adhesive and got it back on properly, and it's a very strong hold. The adhesive is only on the outside of the nipple it never got inside, etc. I'm not sure of a permanent fix for that yet

I was positive i'd have to buy a whole new manifold. It's been a long night, and i'm paranoid about the whole car

A flutter is common under 4-6psi when letting off too I assume?

EDIT: After some reading, it's common to break that vacuum connection at the manifold. If it breaks off, or loosens i'll add a bit of JB Plastic weld. If that fails, pull the manifold and clean the whole thing up, and tap in a brass vacuum fitting.

Tap it with a brass fitting and JB weld, that is the most common fix. There is a DIY somewhere.

That's what I plan to do. Hopefully my current fix holds until I have the valves cleaned. Ill have whoever does the valve tap the new vacuum nipple, or ill do it while they do the valves.

The fluttering noise is commonly surge, which is not good, is there a way to lubricate the BOV piston if this becomes a common thing? If not, I may have to opt for a lighter spring.

Went under the hood this morning to confirm everything was still there and noticed this disconnected vacuum hose laying around. What should I do with this hose? ER instructions don't specify.

It's capped off on my 1M, so perhaps it goes to the exhaust flap (which the 1M -- thankfully -- didn't come with).

Found where it came from. Don't know how it broke, or got cut. I'll have to re-attach it. I'm sure this caused a significant vacuum leak!

On my HKS BOV one hose connects to the engine behind the throttle body and the other end connects to a nipple on the BOV. My friends Synapse BOV is the same but 2 hoses connect to the BOV. If your Tial only has one spot to connect a hose like my HKS then take off the plastic Y split and use just one hose.

Well, it hasn't thrown any vacuum codes, etc. I'm going to reconnect it before I leave work today to ensure everything's right. I have no idea what that large line is that it attaches too across the filters, right side if engine.

The large line runs from the vacuum pump to the brake booster, but i have no clue about the little one..

I cut the remaining piece off the T, and re-attached the other hose that somehow got broken or cut. All is well now

The little one goes to the exhaust flap. Looks like you figured it out. Have fun!

Hmm. So that can be capped off to do an even easier golf tee mod?
