I only had a short drive with them on but you can really see them working. When you turn on the car they look left and right. When you turn the car you can actually see them look into the corner. The right side of the Rd stays lit when a car passes so you can see if a deer or something else is crossing. Not sure why they are not allowed in the US.

Been discussed before, but the TL;DR version is that the NHTSA (Nat'l Highway and Traffic Adminstration) is typical of most bureaucracies in that it is hidebound, slow to change it's ways, and often beholden to the very industry it is supposed to regulate.

In other words, the answer from the NHTSA is that 'why should we change, it has been working fine for 100+ years...'

From the wiki article on NHTSA:

Quote:
Although most of the world's countries accept or require ECE-compliant vehicles—either as official signatories to ECE regulations or by national regulations effectively identical to ECE—the United States, virtually alone in the world, has declined to join the forum or accept ECE regulations, and blocks the importation of vehicles built to international ECE Regulations rather than the U.S. safety regulations

Edit: added info about NHTSA

talking about coding you wont get banned.

Promoting coding services when you are not a sponsor is when you would prob get in trouble I would imagine.

So I guess I should re word my question to ACCCE, "Accce: can you pm me the process and who you went through to get this done?"

haha but then it wouldn't be free??

I was actually more interested in the process more so then the coder. I will be visiting EAS again in a week or so to get my drop installed on my way to HRE headquarters ill have to see if they can do this for me. I think it would be a great addition for me since I live out in a rural area and drive to work in the pitch black every morning.

That would be an excellent feature for you given your rural area situation. I live and work in a city, with no real rural trips planned so it wouldn't be of much use to me although I am definitely planning on getting it activated as well, just because I can

I think if I remember right, there's a button on the turn signal stuak that turns on/off the Adaptive lights. So off when you want them straight and on to have them looking around. Its one of those things that thankfully wasn't something physically removed like the button for rear fog lights.
