How about the sound in the car? Without the mid resonator...Wouldn't it be very loud inside?

By the way, it sounds really good in your video.

Nah it won't be bad at all inside, its not that loud. But nice job. Sounds much better and deeper.

Thanks for taking the time to take and post that video. Very helpful!

I'm also curious to know how you concealed your Valentine1 as I am thinking about getting one. I know there is a company by the name of Stealth that will allow you to display the V1 on the DVD/Navi screen.

The car sounds interesting. The sound almost wants to get raspy but doesnt. are there any other resonators that can be removed from the 3er? How much of the a difference do you hear? Inside the car, can you hear the exhaust note better or at all?

The E90 has 2 resonators; like the E46. The cats are in the exhaust manifold itself.

(off topic, I dont think StealthV1 has a setup for the E90, and not sure when they will, considering the car is a completely different bus system than the E46/E39/X5/etc; I got one for my dads X5; its pretty damn cool!)

A resonator looks like a mini-muffler, but is usually a hollow chamber through which your exhaust goes. Think of it as a silencer on a gun. It doesn't impede the flow of exhaust gases, but catches some of the sound.

In my experience, it eliminates some of the tin can sound and throttle release raspiness.

its usually from 60-100 bucks. I am getting mine taken out right now. My car is in the shop. I have a custom exhaust on it so i will tell you guys how it sounds and maybe do a sound clip if i come around to it! =)

it cost be $80 to remove the resonator and make the y-pipe and install. did it at some local muffler shop.

btw i have the ikon also too and i think i have that throttle-release raspy/hissing noise (only when after driving), anyone got this problem too? or may it be a leak?
