Skid plate for M235 M Performance splitter?

Anybody making any kind of skid plate for the M Performance splitter? I can't get my car in my garage without some rub on the underside of the splitter. I never had a problem with my previous e46 M3. Go figure.

I've been holding off on getting the splitter for that reason.
One member told me he removed the lower narrower horizontal piece and it rubs less.

...hmmm, is it that much lower? I just placed order and added splitter. Any feedback from others would help.

I think you only get about 2 to 3 inches clearance with the splitter installed.

I LOVE the look of the splitter but have hesitated as I'm concerned about it compromising clearance too much.

As Trinoc asked, please provide input if you have one. Thanks in advance.

I am waiting for other owners' feedback. Very much needed. My car will arrive next week, and i am going to purchase this lip. Should I cancel?

I can't get it. My car won't go up my driveway with the splitter on. You can't go over a speed bump with the splitter on either. Nice for the track but useless other wise.

I'm lowered on H&R's and I have the splitter, I just need to be weary of extreme driveways and avoid roads I know are in shitty condition. I live in SoCal so IMO its not too much of a hassle. Now if I lived in an area where it snowed and rained and the roads where it bad shape, I might reconsider. My .2.

Its maybe at max 3" in the middle. I live in Los Angeles and you have to be incredibly careful with speed bumps, driveways, curbs, etc... I found out the first day I had the car, backing in the driveway. Mind you it's underneath so it cannot be seen on the front lip but regardless. You just have to except the fact and enjoy the look.

Who did your powder-coating on your rims? I was thinking of getting mine done in a matte black as well. Looks great!

I think Bmw advise to get the splitter in conjunction with the rear spoiler to improve overall downforce and stability. I don't think the car is correctly balanced aerodynamically without both parts fitted together. My car is on 19's, not lowered and gets over various different speed bumps fine. I just slow right down. Surely a fitting a skid plate would make the car even lower to the ground.

Yea, I've come to the conclusion that it is what it is and if it needs to be fixed or replaced in the future then so be it. How is the ride with those 19"? Might be a bit tough on the shite streets around LA.

Do you have pics of your car w/ that setup? not lowered w/ 19s and the front splitter?

The ride is better than my Z4 was which was also on 19" run flats. I suppose it depends what you are used to driving. The roads are generally good in the UK so no problems so far in my 6 weeks of ownership.

Contact MRF Engineering. They made an aluminum skid plate for the M3 GT4 splitter and can probably custom fab something for you. Plus they're in SoCal

That's pretty! If I weren't in the "pro battle scars" especially since it's a lease camp I'd absolutely get one of those.

Just (2 hours ago) picked up my car. It has the splitter. My fist barely fits underneath the middle. Did past the first 2 tests (parking ramp at home and ramp+speed bumps at the office) with flying colors.

I have MG and kept it mat black. Love the look!!!! That was the whole point for me. going to be a bit of a b*tch in Quebec winters though ...

To quote tom hanks "the hard is what makes it great. If it were easy everyone would do it!"
