E46 330ci vs E90 335i

Well i pulled out of the gas station near my house and see a black E46 330ci with dark tints roll up to the light...i pull out of the gas station and quickly get behind him and inch up to him a bit. At this moment, the light is still red but he's inching up 3-4 feet...

The light turns green and we both floor it. He jumps into the right lane still pushing it, and while i'm flooring it in the left lane, I blow by this guy at over 80mph and hard brake before the red light which turns green as I approach. I gave the car some more gas and notice the 330 slowed down considerably after i passed him.

Not sure how much he was pushing his car, and how fast those older 330ci's were, but it seemed like his car was considerably slower.

The e46 coupes look tight as hell though. Did you get any pics? It would've been slaughter if he didn't have the ZHP package.

It wouldn't of been even close against a N/A 330. It only has 220 at the fly and the ZHP has 230 with 6spd manual option. Now if you were going against a S/C 330 it would of been a different story. Nice car though... miss mine!

you think? Einstein.

You know what I like to do, I like to go to the gym and pick on scrawny little kids that weigh less than 100 lbs, just to show them who's the boss. That makes me really proud of myself.

Yeah, that's not even a close match.
He had no idea you had a 335i at the start. Unless he's got a FI E46, he doesn't stand a chance.

True, though I think he added a little too much sarcasm in his post which is why I posted what I did.

If it was an automatic, it is indeed considerably slower. They were listed as 7.1 seconds 0-60. Manuals were listed at 6.4. The ZHP versions were a bit quicker, with C&D I think getting ~5.6 at best. Even that is slower than what we've been seeing for 335s, auto OR manual - 4.8s. Supercharged, a 330Ci is still slower than a stock 335i.

Nothing to be excited about - you blew away an inferior car. If you did that to an e46 M3, then you should be excited. The 335s are very fast of course, but its competition is not older e46s - they have to compete with IS350s and G37s, which make for much closer races.
