Wastegate info help

Anybody out there know what the amount of vacuum pressure required to close the wastegate on the 07 335i? I've pulled my turbos out because of horrible wastegate rattle on my front turbo. I wanted to adjust the wastegate rod and test it but I wanna make sure it's right cause they were a bitch to get out.

So to set my gates up I need to apply a constant 6hgi to the actuator and set it based on a closed status right?

Well don't quote me. I know the base 5-7Hgi is accurate but I'm unclear on the wastegate preload. Most systems use vacuum to open wastegates. This can be catastrophic if there is a vacuum failure. Gates will be closed and you'll burn the turbo. BMW has a spring loaded actuator that is normally open and the vacuum closes to produce boost. So if your vacuum system fails, you'll just have an open wastegate. This protects the turbo from burning due to a stuck closed wastegate. That's why I assume you set the actuator with that 5-7Hgi applied. Again......I'm not sure. I am certainly not a certified mechanic.
