Revs suddenly climb then drop during WOT

Installed my FMIC and upped my Cobb to Stage 1 + FMIC Aggressive.
Noticed that during heavy throttle (ie. more than 50%) in 4th/5th/6th, the revs will shoot up almost like the clutch is slipping and then stabilize and the car continues to pull hard again. This doesn't happen if I take the tune off, which makes sense if the clutch is indeed on it's way out then stock power levels are less demanding of it.

Anyone else experience this? Could this be boost related if there's a leak, or is it just the clutch?

Sounds exactly like a slipping clutch.

If you log you will see a plateau in your rpm during the event.

Yup, my pressure plate was scorched. Clutch had decent life left but the PP wasn't holding up. Swapped to a 335iS kit and never had an issue since.

If you're only ever going to stick to stock turbos I would agree.
Otherwise all bets are off and a simple clutch upgrade and it will hold whatever power you want to throw at it.

Yeah this is my first 6AT car. Not as fun but I like that It can hold power without having to change parts: plus I'm getting old
