What to check before a long road trip?

Considering the car is so new (1800 miles so far), do I need to take it in for an inspection before my 3000-mile road trip?

An oil change ?
Some may say totally unnecessary, but I think it's not a bad idea, guess they would charge one-hour labor ~.

Biggest thing is to check the tire pressure.

Am also on same page with fresh oil change. Get break in oil out and new in. Yeah, I know...I'll get flamed for it sounding too old school, but if you are taking that long of a trip with sustained speeds, most likely, nice to have fresh oil now that break-in time is completed.

At same time, have a tech--- or DIY-- double check torque on wheel bolts. They may be OK but may also have worked the adjustment-need magic after 1800 miles. Air inflation as above is a must. Don't assume its the same as when you picked it up. And even then it might not have been spot on. Have a great trip...

I agree with checking your tire pressure before a long trip. Mine was delivered with all tires at 34 psi, which is two psi too high for the front and 2 psi too low for the rear. Once I put in the correct pressure the car handled much better. If you do change the pressure significantly to bring it back to specs you need to recalibrate the car tire pressure monitoring system. It is easy to do (instructions in owners manual).
