▀▄ eas | FIRST LOOK: M4 H&R Spring install

EAS was able to secure some of the first sets of M3/M4 H&R springs in the states a bit early and wasted no time on getting a set installed and sharing those photos with you. Special thanks to Roman from ESS, who paid a quick visit from their facility in Chandler, Arizona making it a good opportunity to rack up come break-in miles (379mi each way) on their new M4.

H&R Springs

The most popular in H&R's line-up, the Sport Springs will lower your M3 for a lower center of gravity, improved handling and a more aggressive appearance. Sport Springs feature more control than that of the OEM springs, but are still comfortable enough for daily use. Sport springs are an excellent choice for street and occasional track use.

H&R Sport Springs have the handling characteristics and aggressive appearance that you've been looking for, without the harsh ride of less-advanced spring systems. The Sport Springs feature more control and are engineered for the street, making them comfortable and fun to drive. H&R Sport Springs are crafted from from a special 54SiCr6 spring steel to ensure quality and performance.

Features:
- Lowers 1.0" Front/Rear (confirmed install)
- Moderate drop and superb ride quality
- ISO 9001 Certified, TÜV Approved
- Crafted from special 54SiCr6 spring steel that provides the spring with unparalleled tensile strength and resiliency
- Lighter and more durable than other automotive coil springs

Overall impressions

Comfortable feel on the street and improved handling in Sport or Comfort modes. This is a great way to keep the factory feel and characteristics, while getting rid of that ugly wheel gap.

Additional items installed

Front: Macht Schnell - Competition Wheel Spacer Kit - 5mm
Rear: Macht Schnell - Competition Wheel Spacer Kit - 5mm

that drop is wayyyy better than the super sport drop. love the stance. any reason they went with 5mm spacers instead of something more aggressive such as 8 or 10?

Just being conservative and wanted to make sure there was no rubbing on the long drive home.

Roman also got 2 pairs of 10mm, which will probably be installed when arriving back to AZ.

Looks way better. The tire gap from factory is huge, especially the front.

It looks amazing! I'm glad I picked these up, Tom. I couldn't beat my impatience this time around.

I love the look of the drop .....but always wondered why does the factory set the heights they do??
Lots of smart German engineers get paid to figure out the perfect ride height and handling etc.....
A good drop is fine for the track but as a DD?

from your guys' experience, would 10mm possibly rub with 2 people in the backseat and springs fully loaded?

Just got home from the trip and racked up just enough miles for my first oil change. Ride quality is good on the new springs. No complaints except for the awful roads in CA and the traffic I will be testing out the 10mm spacers F / R tomorrow. Thanks Tom for the springs and custom coding.

Looks fantastic! I would be interested in someone setting some comparison hot lap times!

Additionally, alignment required after install? Lastly, availability and pricing?

I think the front is fine but the rear is a little too low. Both front and back should drop the same amount.

It is a 1in drop front and back. From factory the rear sits lower.
