Undecided on trim

So I just ordered my '15 M235i today (and I'm pretty excited about that!):

MW on black Dakota Leather
6MT
Executive and Premium Packages
Lumbar Support
BMW ConnectedDrive Services

The trim highlights will be gloss black, but I'm still deciding on (I think) Aluminum Hexagon vs. Brushed Aluminum trim. In another thread, I had asked for thoughts on whether the aluminum hexagon goes well with the CF shift knob/brake handle. Leaving that aside, though, I'd appreciate people's thoughts on trims. I've left the hexagon in my order for now, but I still have time to change that.

And while I'm asking, any strong views on Fineline Stream Wood trim?

And I do realize it comes down to personal preference, but I'd appreciate the input - thanks!

The aluminum hex is the way to go. Had high gloss in my last car and it scratches very easily.

Congrats on your order!

I agree that the woodgrain looks fugly in these cars.

I went with alum hex because I never had it before and had the brushed alum in my old car so took a chance, knowing I can replace it easily if I didn't like it.

Im gonna say you cant go wrong with either alum trim.

My ca really pushed the brushed, but I'm glad I stuck to the hex. Looks great.

Above agreed! Hex is a cracking good look-- sporty, 'all-business' sort of look, looks strong. Adds a nice contrast to smooth surfaces elsewhere. Wood? that's a personal preference, but IMO it takes the seriousness away from interior.

Loved the Benz remark above...had not thot of that.

Aside from staying away from wood, the choice between the other two is such a cosmetic personal preference that it's impossible to tell you what to do. I went brushed because I like the look and it matches the steering wheel trim better. Also thought maybe easier to CF wrap if I beat it up. That said hex is more durable.

Yeah, but the aluminum really reflects the sun into the windows. Besides, what's wrong with getting wood? I like getting wood...

Maybe cancel your order and wait for some other choices???

I like the wood, but I am very old

Has looked good on my cars with black leather. All my BmWs have been silver and black though

Doesn't matter since the best option is just replacing it with CF anyway.

I would seriously consider the mp trim. You can get it as a port installed option(which is what i did). It makes the car look a lot more aggressive and sporty imo.

I like my aluminum hex trim, but CF would be nice upgrade; although I prefer the stock leather boot for the stickshift over the alcantara boot that comes with the CF.
