Just took 600 mile new 335i e90 Steptronic to the Drags!

Hey guys... well... I've had her exactly one week... she's turned about 650 miles... and proceeded to the Dragstrip Friday Night.

Car ran amazing consistent:

13.70@103.7
13.53@103.5
13.50@103.5

This is 100% Stock (With the exception of my K&N drop in filter showed up today, so I threw it in)... probably should have switched back and forth... since the new one only had 600 miles on it!

Stock Run Flats etc... Car's best 60' was a 2.0 launching at about 1300 RPMS... Firebird is one of the worst tracks for grip... so I knew that I wasn't going to get to really launch hard, but wheel spin wasn't too bad.

Once I get her to the 1,200 mile point I'll throw a chip in! AARRGGHH!!!

Couldn't be happier with a bone stock 4 door sedan, rolling 13.5's out of the box!

Peace,
Dave

Great times, I'm sure if you try again at say 3k when the engine is a little bit looser you will get better times.

Just curious, seeing you have step on your car, how do you launch in the drag situation? Put in DS and step on the gas?

Shut the traction control down, move the gear selector to DS, roll forward to illuminate the top bulb, brake boost the car to illuminate the second (be careful not to push through the light), hold the RPM's around 2000, release the brake pedal and accelerate when the third yellow lamp is illuminated.

It takes time to master this if you're a novice.

What Trill said... with the exception of RPM... unfortunately 1200 RPM's for 'SLIPPERY Firebird'... if I head out to Speedworld hopefully she'll hold 1700 - 2000 RPM's!

I tried both Manual, and DS... DS seemed best.

Hold the brake pedal while simultaneously pressing the gas slightly. The objective is to build revs to get you into the powerband. The amount of RPMs you're able to hold will be dependent on the track surface prep/ tires etc.
