Remove top speed governor

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the 156mph top speed governor through coding? If so, what is the code for it?

Why? Where are you driving 160+? The reported ECU tune that is blowing up in this forum claims to have removed it.

Unable to order "Drivers Package" in the USA.

I will run out of RPM's on the limiter on the back straight

I would like any & all info on coding this limiter up to the 174MPH of the Driver Package.

Requires FSC code to unlock. Doubt BMW would sell to US vehicle.

This!

And for the OP, even with the limiter it goes faster than 160. I'll try to come up with less wind to give more exact answer tomorrow.

Edit:
Oh hell, I forgot this is a car forum! What I meant my speedometer is optimistic enough, I don't and can't confirm any real numbers, and no pics.

Dude from Wyoming? They haven't even heard of phones yet!

My source didnt get any good openings today, so max achieved was staggering 135.

I have to say on my behalf, that its too fucking fast for roads. Idiots like me, or the ones that risk others will get killed fast.

the eye in the sky sees all.

if the road is straight enough and visibility is great to the sides and no traffic, why not?

Side winds, a storm rising and the driver wanted to see the kids again. Wimping out is not always a bad thing.

you would have there, my balls have been tested and though they are an aftermarket set, they are solid.

Maybe it's me but does anyone really know what they are talking about? Given that there have been numerous people posting videos (U.S. based) of their cars hitting in excess of 170 mph (the most recent M4 review included), seems to me that there isn't a governor that would otherwise need coding to remove...

I never hit that, and I sure as hell have tried. Dunno, maybe my fancy boy Peter just likes pleasing me.

I'm still under the break-in service, but as far as I know the speed limiter is set at 167mph. That's what it was on both of my E60 M5's. Would be nice to delete it though, I'm sure someone will (legitimately) figure out how to do it at some point.
