DDE replacement under warranty

In our never ending quest for data and statistics.

If you had your DDE replaced under warranty. What was the year and build date of the vehicle? Hoping to see a pattern.

I have since had all 6 injectors changed a month ago and the car is in the shop right now getting an injector replaced.

Mine is an 11. Will get the build date when I get it back from BMW.

Never had this issue but my car is a 2009 and has the "Bosch EDC CP09" DDE version.

I've heard that at some point they switched over to a Siemens DDE version.

I had my ECU replaced 2 weeks ago under my extended warranty. 76,000 miles and all 6 injectors were replaced last year.

edit: 2010 with a 09/2009 build date.

Yes, DDE was replaced under original 50k mile warranty. Even after carbon cleaning and 6 new injectors the car was continually throwing zero quantitiy adaption codes. I provided my SA with the Service Bulletin that cited new DDE was the solve. They then ordered one, programmed it and off I went.

My DDE is in transit hopefully.

My car is 2011MY and I think an 09/10 build.

I had:
2 injectors replaced
Then the Carbon cleaning
Then all 6 injectors replaced

Now it's DDE time, it's funny cause I told the SA when I dropped the car off the DDE is gonna get replaced.

2010, 82k miles.
Just had carbon blasted, and the next week had all six injectors replaced.
Getting it back Monday, if it doesn't throw any more codes while the tech is driving it this weekend.

I can't find the service bulletin for DDE replacement.

I'd like to be able to show it to the SA if mine keeps throwing codes.

Anyone know the # of the bulletin?

My DDE was replaced under original warranty at about 48000 miles. The car is an April 2011 build. It was replaced after carbon clean up and rough low load performance with accompanying check engine light.

Moose, which BMW Service (in TO?) did you get this done, and what is the ID of the service bulletin for Siemens DDE? Thanks

I'm now getting a new DDE. Gotta hook up with one of the Toronto boys and read the old version and new when I get it.

So quick update on my car.

I got a new DDE installed and quickly racked up 2500 kms over the last 3 weeks.

So far no more faults. I'll be a lot more comfortable when I hit 5k without a fault but for now pretty happy.

Only mod right now is a catch can and BMW did not say a thing about it during the multiple service visits.

You should be good-to-go. It has been ~14k miles since I've had Carbon cleaning and a new DDE. I have had zero faults.
