Coilover install / Corner balancing - where?
Same thing as my fender rolling thread. I'm getting new wheels/tires/coilovers shortly and will need to get it all done w/ minimal downtime.
Anyone have experience w/ installing coilovers or know a good shop that could help me out? Spool....I know you have/had them on your e92

My buddy can do the coilover install and he charges 300 to do it..springs alone he'll charge 200 bucks...
I used to do this as a side job but i retired from it, did about 6 cars and it's just too much hassle... there is a DIY in the forum, you can use it to guide you...when u get it contact me, i might be able to lend a hand...i need to get my fenders rolled also

never done that before, is it best done on a lift? Might be worth getting your friend to do it.
If you've done it 6 times and still consider it a major pain, its probably worth the $300 and have it done. I'm considering going w/ 265's in the rear to save from rolling the fender, we'll see.

I should have the coilovers before the end of the year. I'll let you know asap once I get them.
Where is your friend located?? Where would I need to take my car and wouldnt I need an alignment asap after the install?

I installed just springs in my garage alone and it took me about 5 - 6 hours. Of course I was being very careful not to damage my car.
If you have the right tools (jack, impact wrench, hand tools) it is not too difficult. Actually one side took me 4 hrs'ish and the other side took less than 2 hrs because I knew what I what to do. For corner balancing check out: Curry's Auto (VA) Pro-Imports (MD) Induktion Motorsports (MD) Funktion Auto (VA)

Only true tuner or motor racing shops do corner balancing.
Corner balancing is basically when you have a adjustable suspension height setup, like coilovers, they balance your car out to make sure that you have even weight distribution at all four corners of your car. The really good shops will even add weight in the drivers seat to simluate you sitting in your car. Cornering balancing ensures that weight is evenly distrubuted for road racing purposes. Becasically ensures that when you turn or brake or accelerate weight is transferred evenly throughout the car. You basically have all four wheels sitting on independent scales. You adjust the height of each wheel through the adjustable coilver to shift weight around between the four corners. I opinion is you only really need if you are into hard core, competitive road racing.
