M3 vs M4 fender gap

So I've seen all of the H&R threads and how they fix the wheel gap but all of the pics I've seen so far have been on M4's. EAS's thread shows about a 1/2" difference between the front and the rear. I knew mine was higher so I measured it today and I'm seeing almost 1-1/2" difference between front and rear.

I did the same measurements as they did in the EAS thread, posted below. But I also have a piece of wood that is just shy of 1/2". I placed it on the top of the tires and placed a level on it to make sure it was level. I was able to place it on top of the rear tire and it touches the bottom of the fender = slightly less than 1/2" gap. I did the same on the front and it's almost 2".

I could see the H&R helping the front but is it even feasible to only use the springs in the front? I don't need to drop the rear an entire inch but the front is ridiculous.

PS - if you feel like responding with some speech about how these cars come perfect stock and you can't improve performance or how drastic it's going to alter it, save it. If that was the case all these cars would look like DTM race cars and we wouldn't be able to go over a speed bump or up an inclined driveway.

Was wondering the same thing. Maybe someone that's doing the hr springs could do the fronts only first and set the car down off the rack so we could see what it looks like?

F80 is much higher in the front than the rear. Not much you can do about it with the current springs - the H&R 435i Sports, Super Sports and the M4 Sports all lower the F80 rear nearly as much as the front and result in a very butt down appearance.

Hopefully there will be an m3 specific spring? Otherwise, we may have to wait for coilovers it sleeve kits.

Yeah I know they have the H&R sport as well as Super Sport springs and the pic you posted looks pretty good. I'm just stating that if I only have 1/2" gap in the rear then it will look pretty slammed even with the regular Sport H&R springs no? Aren't they like 1.2" drop? I guess I'll find out soon enough when I buy them and put them on. I may only do fronts and take pics before doing rears.

Or be patient and get coilovers so that you can't adjust to your liking. It's lowered 1 inch all around. To me it doesn't looked slammed as much as the pics show. It really does look different in person. To benefit you I think coilovers will suit you best.

to be fair, they only list the M4.

and, the initial pictures I've seen, the F80 M3s all look too low in the rear.

I'm willing to bet that Eibach will have a solution. I plan to contact them to get some details.

Eibach makes the stock springs for f80/f82 so you guys should wait on them to come out with a solution though I'm certain they won't offer springs as low as the H&R.

Just picked up my F80 M3 today. Was shocked to see the rear wheel gap about half an inch and the front about two inches. Looks bad in the front. Looks like the transport block was left in the car by accident.

So I guess I'm looking at the H&R Sport Springs or the KW sleeve kit. Wish Dinan would hurry up with their springs as they always seem to be the best. M Army's car looks good in that pic, does it look pretty even in person? Comparing the front and rear wheel gap?

Hey, could you post more pics of the front and rear wheel gaps? Or try to estimate the difference? With the OEM springs the sedan looks bad in the front. Your car seems pretty even between the front and rear.

Thanks but even with the M3 sport springs and rear looks completely slammed. Another poster is using 435 springs which leaves the rear in the same spot and lowers the front an inch. There is about 1.5" inches difference between front and rear. Maybe the KW sleeve kit is the best solution with this generation.

No. No one has the M3 specific springs yet. Everyone has been running the m4 springs which lower the rear more.

The first ones out where the m4 springs and everyone assumed it was m3/4 springs so a few owners put them on their F80's and the rear sagged.

The m3 specific springs have not been released yet from HR (shipping this week).

So that is correct, no one has the M3 specific ones (yet).

There were two threads with users stating that they installed M3 specific springs. So these posters didn't know then and assumed they were M3 specific. The info on bimmerpost is misleading at the moment.

Yep. It wasn't a bad assumption since usually they would be interchangeable.
