Which to buy: X4 35i, Macan S, or Audi SQ5?

Yes, I see the other post above.

I have owned 8 BMW in my lifetime so far and just purchased a 2015
Boxster S...

Opinions about all 3 in comparison, likes or dislikes and why you'd prefer one over the over. Please limit comments to those who have actually had a chance to own/drive all 3 extensively.

My initial impressions, though limited so far..

Right away Macan was just plain fun.. good enough engine, plenty of speed, goo handling, and very smooth ride for rough Dallas roads and 21" wheels. Electrical steering is somewhat light effort (certainly compared to my current "11 X5 50) but direct and MUCH better road feel than frankly the crap that has come from BMW lately with their version of EPS. Backseat may be too small.. and it's missing the surround view camera system.. I love the Panamera interior...

Have only driven the X4 2.8i Msport so far.. interior starting to look dated maybe and unsure about the rear end look but otherwise OK...

Going to test drive the Audi today...

As I noted in my post... I see that thread... hoping to generate more than 1 opinion about the above 3 cars....

Update...

SQ5 was not available local... but drove regular 3.0t and actually nice just to have that supercharger immediate torque.. unfortunately the nice style seen in the showroom on so many Audi cars is basically N/A on any S cars... relegated to white/red/chestnut inserts or black all the way.. main center console and nav window for sure is more plactic/cheap than X4/Porche interior.. was not expecting that..

Immediately drove X4 even though 2.8i... steering feel better than expected..

At this point Macan or X4.. will wait for more info. re: X4 Mperformance version very soon....

Macan, Macan, Macan...and I prefer the X4 styling to the Macan...and I am a bmw fan of course. The X3/X4 simply can not compete with the Macan - S petrol on order myself. The ONLY thing I can fault the Macan is its height - too short to call it an SUV and I will miss the idrive (too many buttons) but then the interior of the MAcan is light years ahead and of course the driving just blows the bimmers away. For me the choice was simple.

From the outside, the Macan is plain ugly! Recently saw 5 at the 24h of Francorchamps and they were ALL ugly.
I don't say it is not a technically good car, it might be, but it just says: buy me if you don't have the money..... I compare it with a mini....

The X4 on the other hand is far better, nice line, perfect (controversial!) design, good options and maybe a bit less powerful, but I never drag race my car anyway.....

Bim

I have owned them all pretty much and the Macan is a dog.. It feels alot slower than all of them and overall you will be disappointed.

I would buy another Sq5 but I had an Estoril Blue 2014 and moved to the Macan and now ordered the X4.. I loved loved the Sq5 and will own another when they change the body.. For now my X4 goes into production this week so hopefully 2-3 weeks i will have it.. I did white with 20s and loaded Leds etc.

I will have lots of posts as soon as it arrives.

I have not driven the comps cars yet but I have had the opportunity to drive the x4 and its an awesome vehicle. All biased opinions aside it really is a solid vehicle and very fun to drive

Autocar comparo pretty down on BMW steering/handling/driving dynamics.. unfortunately comparo doesn't apply here in states.. were comparing the 2 diesel engines..
BMW really needs to come out with the M performance version soon with improved steering and performance to compete with the Macan S/Turbo..
at this point heavily leaning towards Macan..
