just black exhaust pipes

Folks, I was wondering (following the discussion in the M Performance Parts Numbers thread) if there is any decent way of having the exhaust tailpipes in black color (by painting or what ever measure)? I really don't mind them having to be in carbon, I'd be just fine if they're not silver/glossy as the standard ones are.
the exhaust systems, while some of those might sound nice, are too expensive - I don't want to spend that much money just for the sounds and I'll be happy with the power of the engine in standard setup, no need for tuning. and seeing the prices for the tailpipe endings, that adds up to some 2000 bucks as well - not a price I'm ready to pay for black exhaust pipes

and then I guess painting/spraying them is not the best idea, for many reasons (one being risk of flame/burning and the other, even worse, of the shitty looks). maybe if done professionally? but is there some sort of heat-resistant paint, I'm wondering?

I don't see why you cant slip yours off an do spray high temp paint on it which you can find at any local auto parts store.

Probably cost you $20

Wouldn't it be better to powder coat them?

I agree. I slipped mine off last night and having them professionally powder coated glossy black. It's relatively easy and cheaper. Ill post pictures when I get them back...hopefully tomorrow.

Didn't F30 sport package models offer a very dark gray or black exhaust tip - looked almost like shadow chrome to me in person?

Since mine is Alpine White, I like the Chrome but I think a dark glossy tip would look best and would like to stay with a stock-type tip and look.

I kinda like the black tips on the Dinan E92 exhaust: Just a straight, unflared pipe from the muffler. No rolled tip, no double wall, no angled cut, and matte black. Totally looked like something from a race car. They looked like they meant business.

But one of the tips was a dummy and didn't do anything though

Yeah, the irony is rich for sure. Sort of how I like the way they look because they look super functional and not poserish.... But if I like an exhaust for how it looks, isn't that the definition of being a poser? Hmmm.
