Car cover thread

I won't have a spare garage space for a few months. California and Covercraft don't have a pattern for the F80 M3 yet, has anyone tried a F30 or E90 M3 cover on this car yet? The BMW cover doesn't seem to be available yet, also looking for something thicker.

I have the E92 cover on my 2012 M3. It fits like a glove so I doubt it will fit the F8x.

Turner Motorsports claims they have one:

I got an F32 "future" cover from my SA for free and it fits like a glove on my F82. Almost too tight for my liking. I'll be getting an outdoor cover once one is available.

Thanks guys. The regular 3/4 cover does look a bit tight with the extra width of the M bodywork and likely taller bumpers. I'll just wait, and use a generic one for now.

I'm getting a car cover that protects against hail.

Before I turned my Jetta Hybrid in this year, I had $6k in hail damage.

Apparently the covers work and they're about $300 or so.. it'll be garaged, but for when I'm out and about or at work.

I'm with you, a little rain is no big deal but the size of hail we get here in ATX now is terrifying to a car person. Not much to do about it when it gets baseball sized and punching thru windshields.

just wondering about car covers in general. Is there a concern with the rubbing during extended windy days? That's always been my concern with using covers outdoors.

Yes, and this is why a fitted custom cover with some elastic properties is a better solution than a flappy generic one.

For sure... You never know what's going to happen that May day where a storm system just shows up and starts dumping anything from mass amounts of BBs to golfball plus size hail. I think the $360 bucks is worth it. The cover even has a four year warranty on the materials... I think it will do enough to protect it, although there is no guarantee.

Well, the particular one I'm getting is going to be made for the car. Well, it's made for the 3 Series, but I'm not sure if they'll make any changes for the F8x... I guess it depends on fit, but generally, it's going to fit better than your OSFA options. I might inquire, but the other M cars are separate from the series counterparts.

I have garage, but for those times where I'm at work(where I had trouble last time) I can put the cover on real quick and go about my business. I check the WX often, so I'll probably plan ahead.

m4 Car Cover Suggestion

I'll be parking my new car outside quite a bit and want a cover to keep the trees from filling every nook and cranny with crap...

Any suggestions?

BMW factory Cover worth while?

Tyvek covers have worked great on my previous M3's. I forgot where I got mine, but an online search should find a retailer. Try and get one with mirror pockets.

I just looked bmwusa to see if an oem option shows and it doesn't.

Another thread called out the cover for the 435 but I dont see that listed either... does bmw suck at ecommerce and they really have them at the dealer?

Thoughts?

So you're going to put the car cover on every time you park the car for the night?

Is that so hard to believe?

My CA gave me a BMW "Future" cover for an F32 and while it's very tight around the bumper corners, it does fit well. I only put it on while the car is clean so I don't scratch the finish. Just like you should with any cover.

That cover is too tight and will damage the paint over time. Cover should fit well, but loosely.

I think that that if there is an M performance cover for the M5 and M6, that it will be only a matter of time before BMW releases one for the M3/4... I hope.

Yes, I have never seen anything like that. If one parks car away for storage, I understand.

I would much rather buy a shit car if I lived in a sketchy area.
