The M5 isn't a puppy.

It is a bunch of (nice) sheetmetal and a (really cool) motor. These items have been designed, fabricated and assembled for the driver's pleasure. If he feels like burning it all up doing donuts and other tire smoking trickery, more power to him. Hence the privilage of buying the $95k car.

Besides, as cool as the E60 M5 is, it will be replaced in 7 years with something even more mindblowing and you'll be able to pick up a used M5 for $30k just like you can the E39 M5 today. Such is progress, this is why I stopped lusting after particular models of computer...

These vehicles are built for giving those kind of adrenlin (sp) rush.

As Clarkson said, "If you put in the time to learn the car, boy oh boy do you get the reward"

Nice video. That is exactly how to drive an M5 (past break in). Looks like he has incredibly good car control in the vid.

Oversteering cornering techniques (also known as "drifting") is very hot in Hong Kong now since our local movie maker produced a movie based on the hot and famous Japanese street racing heros cartoon "Initials D".
(Must see this HK movie). Now, many HK's Japanese cars fanatics go to driving school in China to learn this driving techniques!
If you don't crash you car, the only harms and cost are to the tires and brakes, just replace them afterwards.
And, you don't need a 500hp M5 for sure and you cn drive better than him. Will show you a few videos if I can find it.

The one with the real balls was the cameraman.
I bet he was crapping his pants when that car slid out a few feet away from him!.

Must be nice to have 500hp to play with.

He was good, but not amazing. Plus, the car is a dream to drive and pretty easy to control (from what I've read).

That driver either stole that car, or has balls of steel. He was coming damn close the the post on the side of the road doing donuts.

Very cool vid, thanks.

Pure amusement. I know i wouldnt be doing that with a brand new M5, and i love that i can leave it up to someone else to ruin their brand new M5.
