Tinting question - does crystalline make sense in my situation?

Hi all,

I'm planning to get a medium dark tint on my side windows and rear window - going to try to find a good 25-30% visible light tint (i.e. a 30% tint).

Given that level of tint, it seems most reject almost all heat/UV anyway. The main advantage to Crystalline is that you can get a much lighter tint and get enormous heat/UV reflection, correct?

I'm also planning on seeing if the tint shop will do a 70% Crystalline on the front windshield to reflect heat.

I think this combination will give me a nice medium-dark tint, great heat rejection, great UV protection, and be the best value from a cost standpoint.

Am I missing any of the benefits to crystalline? Anything I'm forgetting here?

Thanks all,

Joe

This is crystalline: 70% windscreen, and 40% elsewhere. I love it. It makes a massive difference in the cabin temps compared to any other tint I've used. The car is bone stock other than tint in these pictures.

No problems with tickets in California?

I always thought the laws were ridiculous given the sun/heat http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/CA/, but never dared get the windows tinted.

70% is very light tint.
You can't really tell if there is tint or not.

If worried about cops, you can go with 70% all around.

Parky, do you have a HUD? Does tinting of the windshield degrade the visibility of the HUD?

Not at all. HUD is clearly visible with crystalline tint on front.

Has anyone heard of or used Viper for their window tinting?
