Just hit 10k, time for scheduled maintenance?
Hey guys, I just hit 10k miles on my 2014 3 series. Were we supposed to get the scheduled maintenance at 10k or 15k? What's the process like? Just go to any local BMW dealer and make an appointment? First time owning a BMW just looking for advice lol.

The car will tell you when it is time for service. When you first start the car there should be a miles to next service and an expected date. You can also check on the iDrive menu under service.
I call the service department, they ask if I want a loaner, there is always a 6 hour computer update that is needed to be completed so I take the loaner and I am out of there within 10 min. Pick-up is just as fast. |

The general rule of thumb, least in Canada, for the No-Charge Maintenance to apply is either when the Service Indicator tells you when it's due, depending on your software between 15-20K km or once a year.
I've got one oil change done so far, at the one year mark. |

I just did the same. The dealer here was very adamant about asking if the service indicator was on. I have had my car since December 2013, 8 months, so they were surprised it came on so early. They will not do the scheduled maintenance if it is not.
One disappointment for me was they would not replace my wipers when they did the maintenance. They said that has to wait one year. I understand that is BMW "policy" but every other dealer I have had in use past would just do it when I brought it in for annual service, even a few months early. Since my drivers side wiper is already a little worn out, that was a bit of an annoyance. |

MY2014 is set to 10k, older models are set at 15k. However, your dealer may allow you to do it earlier. Make sure to make an appointment so they provide you with a loaner.

My dealer said when the light goes off or once a year... I do my own intermediate oil change and have them do theirs when it's due.
