FBO E85 09 GTR vs 6MT JB4 M4 +E30
Went down to Mexico today with my friend @Newguy123 and his buddy with a GT-R. Got a couple of runs in. Two 40 rolls and one 60 roll. Still playing with starting gears and shift points, but until then.....
Specs on M4: '15 F82 M4 6MT Stock hard parts JB4 (without wastegate control---until tomorrow ) E30 fuel Specs on GT-R: against '09 GT-R, FBO (minus intercooler upgrade) to include E85 Pro Tune by the guy at AMS, etc. GTR dyno'd at 550+whp/600+wtq on a Mustang Dyno. Not sure what it would do on a DynoJet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 600whp/650tq car. It was a rocket, but I am stoked on how the M4 performed. Available in HD1080. 40 Roll #1 40 Roll #2 60 Roll Enjoy! @Roman@ESS @335iRlz @Mveteran

Impressive! I'm guessing you run an E30 specific tune?
At 4500' I get a very small hesitation when shifting into 3rd and 4th (right after the shift) when running stage 1 +4 psi. I've run octave boost and also 100 octane race gas - my octane averages out to around 95. Have you experienced any hesitation in higher gears? I'm guessing no? Not sure if and E85 blend would help me. I know I can get E85 not sure about E30. Would love to hear more about what you're seeing performance wise and how much faster your car is with E30 compared to stock or stage 1. Thanks! |

True. For the numbers he makes, I was pretty happy with the results.

I plan on doing a dyno this week and I will tell you Stage 1 was much better than stock and E85 mixed in is leaps and bounds better. Let me be clear: You can run the same type of fueling as me. Im running a 91/100 mix to get ~93 and then mixing in E85 to attain a ~30 mixture. I ran E40 in the last tank and it definitely felt a little stronger, but the outcome of these runs would not have changed whatsoever from just that. My advice to you, log, log, log and make sure Terry tell you what you can/can't do because of your elevation. What I am thinking you will be able to do is stick with what you're doing now for the ~95 mix (Try to find a true unleaded 100 or 109 though for mixing) and use ~5 gallons of E85 and achieve an "E30" mix. There are free calculators online.

There are legitimate E30 pumps around, for the record.

I don't get it at +2 PSI but running +4 it seems to eventually come back. It's slight - not too bad but ultimately not acceptable to me. Keep in mind that mine probably runs an extra 2-3 PSI due to my higher elevation which might come into play. Gonna send Terry some more logs soon. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to trying some E85 in the near future. |

I think the first video highlights just how much time is made up with a twin clutch gearbox. As soon as the GT-R changes gear, it literally leaps forward, and does so again on the next gearchange, whilst the manual M goes backwards.

This is true. I think a DCT car would have been better for sure.

Pulled the charcoal filters and installed the wastegates' harnesses this morning. More to follow. Hitting the beach today. Also moving to map 7 from map 1.
