Thanks for the support guys, don't know how to swallow this yet but I'm working through it. 6 years I've been driving, 2 previous cars and I've never had anyone give me such a huge scratch before, I received 2 door dings and 2 minor scratches (less than 1") that was easily fixed myself, but nothing like this, nothing that involves this much carelessness.
I'm not even pissed anymore, I got so upset that I think I went over it and now I'm just feeling completely empty. Don't know what to do yet, I guess I'll assess the damage and find out, still kills me to think about it. |

Damn!!! I'm sorry to hear about that!, hopefully most of it can be buffed out until you decide to get it repainted.

Did this happen at work? If so, I'd be checking out the left front fenders of all the cars that park there tomorrow.
Sorry this happened to you. At least fenders are easy to fix or replace. Still, I know the feeling. This happened to me once before. |

thats so crappy man. I had the same thing happen to my bumper...left rear side though. Had to have the bumper cover replaced.....around $600 with part paint and install. I kept hoping someone would scrape it while i was in the car so they would have to cover it, but i got tired of lookin at my baby bruised. Those abs form bumpers create sexy lines, but when they get scratched you're basically screwed. Again that sucks dude...sorry.

Sorry about your loss Xen, Where and when did this actually occur? That's why I park 1 mile away from the actual destination I am heading to. If I am going into best buy then I park all the way towards the deserted near the dumpers, essentially where no one else parks. But in your case it looks like someone had extreme envy and felt they had to exercise that envy on your car.

Xens, so sorry to hear about this. I know your intentions of parking far, far away from high traffic parking lot areas. I do the same thing... so much so I've had to invest in better shoes since I was walking so much.
Hopefully the rain will subside for you to assess the damage. But keep your chin up, my friend. Worst case would probably be to replace the entire bumper; however, it can likely be repainted.

I know exactly how you feel. Somebody got the rear bumper on the driver's side of my Civic last week. The one time I parked in a different parking lot at work too. Man, was I pissed. Havent gone looking for white cars with a little bit of green on them yet either.

While we're sharing, a van's high license plate embedded the bolt outlines into my rear fender of my TiAG 01 325 during the 1st month I had it. I was in a parallel parking spot... learned my lesson.
First one always hurts.... sorry. I hope you somehow find the guy who hit you. |

Using a combination of car wash, Rubbing Compound and Poorboy's SSR2, I managed to buff out 80% of all scratches. Then applied Klasse AIO and letting HGSG cure now, I'm just so anal about factory pain it's not even funny, next week or when I have some free time I'm going down to one of the premier detailing shops down in San Jose area that exclusively deals with expensive cars and have them do a full service with special focus on the scratched area. Again, I'm obsessed with factory paint I'll do anything and everything to avoid repaint.
Did so much buffing for so long tonight I feel like my right arm is falling off, need sleep, gotta go. Oh this happened at work, but there isn't a camera in the parking lot. |

ey I have a friend whose dad owns a bodyshop. He's actually gonna work on my E90 (a lil scratch on the front bumper). If you want I can give you his contact number. He'll hook you up big time.
