Exclamation Blurred heads up display

I took delivery of my X4 this past weekend and noticed that the heads up display is a little blurred almost like there is a shadow outline around the letters and numbers displayed. I tried adjusting height, brightness and rotate, but it dint fix it. It almost looks like it is being projected on the wrong kind of windshield. My 2012 X3 HUD is crisp and clear. I have attached a pic of the windshield info fin case anyone knows if this is the correct windshield for a heads up display. Thanks in advance.

it may not be the windshield, could be the HUD that needs to be fixed/adjusted by bmw service center

Agreed it is not the windshield as either you see something or nothing.

I would check the HUD to make sure there are no areas where fingerprints could exist. It would be tricky cause there is not a lot of room. I would use a mirror to check it out but take it in to be safe.

That's the first thing I did. Cleaned it with a microfiber cloth. Open to other suggestions. Lol

i wouldnt even mess with it, the parts are so expensive that i rather let the service shop look into it.

Hi Everyone, Just got back from the dealer today and I tried another X4 HUD and it was more crisp and clear than mine. The position of the HUD projection was also much higher. When I set the height level to the max position on both of them there was a significant placement on the windshield. I have my X4 scheduled to go in next Thursday to figure out whats going on with my HUD

X4 is at dealer. They think it maybe a defective windshield causing the blurriness. The dealer is reaching out to BMW to see what they can do.

So the Dealer told me to tell me that it HUD is a little fuzzy, but it is within BMW spec. They compared it to another X4 that they had, which had the same HUD fuzziness. Hard to believe that BMW would reconsider fussiness within spec. My X3 HUD and the 3 Series loaner I have is crisp and clear.

Any other X4 owners having a fuzzy look to their HUD?

Sorry you are having problems. Mine seems normal without being blurry.
That is really disturbing if they are telling you that is acceptable. You spent a lot of money to have something that looks right and is usable. Hope they are willing to make it right.

Mine is sharp. Would have complained too if I saw and fuzziness on my HUD. I would bring it to another bmw dealership and see what they say. Good luck.

Just got the X4 back home today. They compared it with the X4 they had on their lot and they said it looked fuzzy as well. They said if more complaints come in BMW might release a bulletin to the dealers on how to remedy it. I might also try another dealer in the mean time... Sigh
