Takumi587 Detailed: M3 Carbon Black
Ok first step was to start on the wheels.
Process: 1. I sprayed the wheels down with water first 2. Sprayed on P21S Wheel Cleaner(let it sit for a good 5 minutes) 3. Then used a sponge to scrub all the areas 4. For the inner wheel I has a detailing soft brush that could reach in and scrub necessary areas 5. Then sprayed off the brake dust with that Karcher FINISH wheels: After the whees: 1. I washed down the whole car 2. Then Foam gunned(Poorboys super slick and suds) and then used MF mitt to scrub the whole car 3. Sprayed Adams All Purpose on inner wells too and scrubbed that with a brush Polished with the FLEX using 106FA Process: 1. Used a Orange Lake Country Pad w/106 FA(dial 2-6-2) 2. Used a Polishing MF towel to wipe off Some pics outside: More Polishing pics: Some more outside pics: And did the final touches in garage(pics are bad quality when sun sets) Process: 1. Used Pre wax cleaner 2. Then applied Swissvax Onyx 3. Then wiped off with a cold water spray and mf towel Then Viola Last edited by Takumi587; 01-01-2008 at 06:18 PM.. |

I really want to try out a flex as well. I want to see how much time I would save and lose when compared to the Rotory and PC. How many passes would you say it took the flex to break down the polish?
You did a great job! |

Looks great!
But what's the hype about the P21S Wheel gel? Isn't soap and water just as good?

From the reviews on Autopia, its twice as fast, doesn't bog down, has less vibration, and corrects just as well as a rotory ( a little slower I assume), and with less chance of burning the paint.
Of course it is to be said that a rotory will leave the paint a bit clearer. |

Great work Takumi587. I love seeing the Flex in action, such an amazing machine. Hopefully they will be back in stock sometime in January. Flex North America wasn't able to anticipate the high demand once buzz got out in the auto detailing community.
Keep up the great work, excellent job. George |

I just sold scheer my CRSpotless unit. Its definately nice to have when washing in full sun. Beats waking up @ 6am too! Get yourself some ONR and wash in the garage. Sometimes when its really hot, I'll clean my wheels outside (they take me forever with ONR) then drive my car inside and wash inside with ONR.

George at Detailed Image got a shipment of FLEX polishers at the end of December. After filling the back orders, he had a handful left -- I ordered one and mine arrived yesterday. I'm new to polishing, but it seemed like a better unit than the PC 7424 I almost ordered.
Takumi587 - when you say you polished with the dial at 2-6-2, can you explain what you mean by that? 2 to spread around the polish initially, 6 to polish, then 2 for... what? Burnishing after the polish has broken down? Keep in mind I'm new to machine polishing, so I'm trying to learn technique. Also - add me to the list of people who think this is a terrific color. Is the new Jerez Black similar to Carbon Black? I haven't seen Jerez Black in person.

What I meant by 2-6-2 is that I usually change the dial around that area while polishing. I start of with 2 then move up to 6 and while I am at 6 there are parts where i move to either 5,4,3 or 2. For me using the dial is much easier than trying to use the trigger to slow it down. ***This is using a FLEX!!! Not a rotary like the metabo*** |
