Agree with you was a good episode tonight thoroughly enjoyed it.
Got to admit the BMW and Audi look pants compared to the Merc AMG, the latter in my opinion looks superb.

Carlos the best colour for the M3 is not space grey it's
Silverstone II

In all honesty i think the merc looks to overdone, it looks smashing yes and id love one.. But in the magazine pics the merc looks better than it does on video, the opposite to the m3 which looks better on video than in mag pics

The M3 for me is the better looking car, and TBH id love of each of them!!

Silverstone II should be left for E60 m5's

If was spending that kind of money on a car like that i would want it to stand out from the crowd, you definately won't confuse the C63 AMG with an ordinary C class and the same applies to the BMW 3 series and M3. The Audi and the BMW to me look to subtle but each to their own i suppose.

A great episode since it was made clear that power without control is essentially useless.

The M3 rocks, its the bottom line. It will become an irresistible proposition when the M-DCT drivelogic gearbox becomes available.

Agree - power without control is pointless. They've shown the M3 to be a great car, which is good for the history/prowess of the M brand. However, by the time some choice options are added, aren't we nearly into 911 money?

I agree the M3's UK pricing has nudged into a different league. However, if you were going to go for a 911, it would be at the very least a 911 Carrera S. Once that is priced up with a few "necessary" options you can be looking at £72-£75k. Its still significantly more expensive than a fully spec'd M3 which costs around £55k.

hmmm.... client of mine has just bought a new C2S, seal grey, comms, nav, PSM, few other bits and pieces.. for 67k. You're right, it's still a bit of a jump over an M3, but it's closer now than it ever was... Oh, and bear in mind that the Alpina B3 fully specced with everything is only 45k...?

It was great when the Stig mashed the apple first time in the M. C63 was hairy and probably right up Steve A's street.

Still didn't expect the M3 to be a full 5 seconds quicker on the lap

Yeh i agree, its closer than ever before. A new M3 buyer is faced with more options than ever before, because every german rival has an alternative.

You mean the way it was edited for television made it appear that the Stig got the apple first time

It was a good episode tonight. I personally think the styling of the M3 is just right.

I dont batter an eye lid at ANY porsche, well apart from the 997 turbo, gt3 and carrera GT, any other porsche wont do.

The M3 i will get excited like a little kid when i see one on the road for the first time (seen them static)

And once the novelty's worn off and it becomes as everyday as a 911? Then what?

M3 very tasty

The M3 on top gear was very nice but in no way is it in the same league as a porshe 911 a friend of mines wife has a new 911 c4s apart from the horrible black wheels its gorgeous and will stand the test of time ,another guy down the road from us has just sold his 3yr old porshe c2s and bought a new gt3 both these cars are in a different league to a m3 both in money and performance
