Wheel Suggestions for my new Z4 CPE

Hey everyone I have been trying to find some really nice tasteful 18" staggered wheels for my new baby. I just got a new 2007 Silver gray Metallic Z4 Coupe w/Sports package and Premium and I really need to give it a little custom personality. Also, if there are some factory BMW wheels that anyone has seen that look good, I can get any of them at cost as I work at BMW. Anything you have seen that looks really good on these cars I would very much appreciate the help.

Thanks, Curtis

Really, my budget is whatever looks good but I would prefer to keep it less than $4000 for the set an I'd like to do 18's so I can use my factory tires and put snows on my factory set. Please keep the ideas flowing and if anyone as pictures of a nice set on their own car I would love to see them.

In reply to your price curiosity... I won't tell you the exact amount, but I will tell you that my purchase price on the car was less than $30k for a brand new 2007 with 77 miles on the car.

I love my car!!! I was not too sure I really wanted a Z4 instead of a 335i Sedan but I tell you, I am glad I went with the Z4 and on top of that I think I have decided to go with some of the BMW M-Spoke style 135 wheels that are the same size as the factory wheels. When I get them installed, I'll post up some pics!

YOW! Suddenly the $32K I paid for mine (Prem + Nav, but no Sport) doesn't seem like such a killer deal anymore. Still happy, but wish I had your negotiating skills. Enjoy your ride.

PS. I'm not in a crazy hurry to change wheels, but would be interested in a less radical/expensive option (like good sticky non-run-flat rubber on lightweight 17's). Any suggestions (including optimal width/offset if different from stock) would be appreciated.

Thanks.

There is something you need to know before you think you didn't get a good deal on the car you bought, and that is I am a warranty adminstrator for the local BMW shop so I got an excellent deal as I am on employee lease. So $32K... I would say you got a rockin' deal! !

If I were you and you wanted to keep with the factory 17" wheels, I would get the factory tire size and put on some of the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 Ultra High Performance Summer tires. I had a set on my 3-series and they were the best tires I have ever had on a car and granted they cost a little more than some tires, they were worth every cent! They ran quiet, the grip on them was SUPERB on dry pavement and shed the rain water away like a gem! I am actually getting some for my Z4 in 18" to replace a rather rediculous problem plagued bridgestone RE050 RFT's that come as stock...

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking I will keep the stock 17's, but am wondering if I should stagger the widths of the tires when I change out the run flats. Even though I have 17x8's front and rear I'm thinking that when I change tires I may keep the stock 225/45 up front and go for 245/40's in the rear. I wouldn't think that this small an increase would be a problem on this width rim, but if anyone has opinions or experience on this I'd appreciate the advice.

I think you should go with whatever floats your boat. We all have opinions...but its your car and your opinion is all that really matters.
