Torque App settings
Hi guys
for those measuring HP / TQ numbers with the torque app what are you parameters for the vehicle profile. like fuel 16.5gal redline 5k or 4.8k and so on with the settings i have i only get 188hp . maybe i need to floor it a couple times from 60-100mph instead of 0-50mph also what numbers do you get ? thanks |

Here's a screen shot of my 335d profile.
In 2nd gear your transmission isn't locked up, so you'll get a lot of drivetrain loss. In 4th you'll be in license loosing territory if caught ... I usually do 3rd gear, which is locked up, but not as good as 4th or 5th. You also need to realize you have more drivetrain loss than when on a dyno, as you have 4 wheels turning, and you are also loosing hp to wind drag. You can calculate the wind drag based on Cd and frontal area... it's ~20 hp at 70 mph. So if you do a 3rd gear pull on flat ground with no wind and your stock 265 crank hp and you pick some drivetrain loss # like 18%, you might expect to see 265*(1-0.18) - 20 ~ 196. I've had issues with Torque producing less than consistent results as I've pushed the power up. If you spin the wheel it'll look like a huge hp #. If you accelerate too quickly the time steps between sample points might occur too fast and it won't see the peak numbers. If you have larger or smaller tires than OEM the OBD speed will be off which will also impact the numbers... But it is fun to play with.
