328i H&R RSB for the 328d

I've ordered a RSB for the 328i and will take it to a local suspension shop. They will first eyeball the fit for my 328d and if it looks good will try to complete the installation. Fingers crossed!

I've checked with folks with more knowledge than I have about chassis dynamics and they've agreed with me that the neither the minor weight differential between the two cars or the difference in hp/torque will make the 328i bar inappropriate for the d.

BTW, Tuner Motorsport didn't even have these in stock yet. They had to order it from the H&R warehouse in Washington state.

Let us know how it is. I have been looking into some springs as well, I don't know which ones are good. Was hoping to seek some suggestions and recommendations, so if it works well, please let me know

Good luck!

The difference in weight and F/R weight bias is so small I would indeed not worry about it. Worst case the improvement might me slightly reduced compared to the 328i, but I think either way it would be a significant improvement, because IMO the car is way too soft in roll. Did you notice any improvement in roll with the shockwave?

Yes, a big difference. I take the same highway on/off ramps all the time so I was able to do a comparison. Much flatter and controlled with very little roll even on the sharper part of the sweep. I took the Shockwave to a BMWCCA ADSS mini-autoX session and pushed the car to 8/10ths and it stayed surprisingly solid in Sport+. But I can see why DVC is calling for a Stage 2 Shockwave. I'm sure he pushes harder than I do and I think over 8/10ths you'd feel some roll.

That's awesome, mines a lease so I'm probably not going to go for the Shockwave, but that seems like a pretty good improvement. Changing the sways (especially the rear) is a much more efficient way to reduce roll than stiffening the shocks so I think you will be very happy with the upgrade. I was actually wondering if the RWD sway bars would fit on the XDrive since even with DHP we don't get the stiffer sway bars.

H&R makes thicker ARBs for the 328 xDrive: http://www.hrsprings.com/application...ts/4/1604/2014

I just found out from TMS that the F30 H&R rear sway bar now has the 328d listed for fitment, so go to it guys and gals! I will be traveling for the next six weeks but plan to get it installed when I return in November.
