Winter Run-Flats for M235i.

I'm wondering what people thing is the ideal run-flat winter setup with the M235i. Anyone with snow boots on already?

Square set-up 225/40-18 with Blizzak WS80 and throw a front original wheel/tire in the trunk as a spare. I bought a mini spare from bimmerzone.com to be liberated from run flats all year long.

So you decided to run 18s. Been wanting to do the same since I don't want to buy nice rims since mine is a lease. Was planning on just swapping off the original rims.

The wifey feels better with RFT so I decided to not fight that battle. But I get your point.

I decided on the 17" BBS-SR wheels with skinnier tires 215/50R17 WS-80 - the more the sidewall and thinner the tire the better.
Wheels are backordered and expected to ship the first week of October.

I did not want to run 18" but have to because of the Track Package bringing along larger MSport calipers. If you can run 17", by all means do that with a narrow tread width as possible.

I am going to run 17" on my M235i, I am pretty sure the brakes clearance is the same as the track package 228i

Have you test-fit the wheels? The info I have is that the 17 won't clear the blue calipers. 18" is minimum.

Check out the thread below, the 17" BBS-SR with LS80s are reported to fit as good or better than the stock 18".

Thank you very much for that link! I must retract and apologize for my error. Based on this, I just spoke with tirerack.com again, and modified my not-yet-shipped order to be 17" wheels with 215/50-17 Blizzak WS80 for more traction and better rim protection. SmallTownBoy and BEM-S4, you made my day!
