V2 finallly here - 535i install about to take place - please help!

Are there any nuances that I need to be aware of aside from the installation instructions on Vishnu Forums? Anything at all? I am installing V2 into a 535i, if that makes a difference....

just be very careful when connecting the orange wires for the power. this seems to have been most of people's problems...

Let me know how your install goes especially with battery issue we've had with 535i with v1.47 and if fixed now. And more importantly if the battery drain problem I had with trying to install v2 is not a problem once you've updated the unit to v2.

I've sent my unit to Shiv to get updated for v2 and am running around with the bypass plugs until they send it back. Could not get it to connect via serial no matter how many times I tried.

Check the com settings on your computer. Make sure they match up. Hope this helps.

Tried 3 other USB serial cables and direct serial connection with my laptop. No luck. Am very PC savvy and checking device manager for COM# was a given. Also went through the 3! combos of ignition on, Procede Reader software on, serial connect. Long story short, I suspect the Procede Serial harness is the problem. Procede unit is drawing power as it drained my battery the next day when left connected to the harness overnight. Needless to say, sent the unit to Shiv to update to v2 and hopefully we're good to go once it comes back.

My big curiosity with Yahtzee's 535i install is whether or not the Procede unit with v2 doesn't cause the v1.47 battery drain warning and also if the problem I had with Procede unit drawing down power altogether using the new v2 ECU power source is also present.

Although Yahtzee I did get a call from my BMW dealer today as Dinan now offers 535i ECU flash. If no better luck with v2 than I'll probably switch over as I'm not very patient nor have the time to deal with troubleshooting the car, install/un-install Procede, etc. I hope your v2 install goes well and that the power issue is finally resolved.
