Brand new paint job..Questions?
Hey everyone just got my car back from the bodyshop. I own a monaco blue 335I. Anyway 3/4 of the car was painted over again because I was involved in a accident. I had a clear bra on my car. They are telling I have to wait a month before I can install it again. My question is how long does it take for freshly painted car to fully harden and cure as they say? Also how about the clear coat?
Thanks, |

Not only should you wait to install the clear bra but to also use a sealant or wax on your vehicle as well. Hope this helps. George |

You got lucky.
I have a clear bra and I recently got the OEM front lip. I also had that clear-bra'd, but two times in a row now, the paint has come off during the clear-bra install. Both times, the paint had been on there for 10 or so days... This time around, I'm probably going to wait a couple of months, clear-bra it, then install the lip.

With regard to the factory paint question, no, you don't need to wait before you clay, buff, polish etc. on your new factory paint. It arrives to you fully cured.
