MAF sensor readings
Hi guys. I have two 2006 e90's and I am getting two codes on one of my cars (P0171 and P0174) and I'm trying to figure out it its my mass airflow sensor or not.
I plugged both cars into my actron code scanner to read live data. One car had a reading of 4.5 (gr/se) (whatever that means) and one car is at 2.4 idling. The one with the lower one has the CEL. Anyone have any information on where these numbers are supposed to be? I've found no obvious evidence of a vacuum leak so I'm trying to narrow as many things out as I can. Thanks guys.

I have a 2010 328xi with 77k. I have the same codes. I couldn't find any vacuum leaks and replaced the MAF, reset the SES and within 5 miles it came back on. The gas cap tested good too. Today I had an indie pull the codes with a code reader for BMW's and all he saw was 0171 and 0174. Since I had not had a chance to reset the codes after replacing the MAF he did so and told me to drive it and see if the SES comes back on and if it did to bring it back and they would check for a vacuum leak. The light came back on within 6 miles so I guess I will have to take it back and let them see what they can find.
