limp mode not limping? wtf?
Guys anyone ever have this issue? Any comments or insight is much appreciated.
Driving down 495 this morning, got on the throttle in 4th 2 times in short succession (had to get around some traffic) The half engine (CCID 29 (reduced engine power)) warning pops up, but no CEL / SES lights up. JB4 did not drop to MAP4, stayed where it was in MAP 5. car ran and drove fine, still boosting at target levels (Boost on Fuel is enabled), set the JB to map 1 and pushed right around 12psi, so seems solild. Oil temps all normal, was driving pretty easy in general so was around 220-230. No idea on coolant temps, but im sure it was in spec. Drove all the way up to exit 8 off rte 3, pulled into gas station, shut the car down, started up, half engine / limp mode notification is gone, drove the car around at lunch today, everything seems normal, and have no SES light at all. Havent scanned for pending PID codes but what the hell is going on? I suppose its nothing major to worry about, since the car is running all normal, i guess im fine - just want to see if anyones got some insight or had a limp mode with no limping happen to them? thanks guys |

Cool thanks for the feedback. Anyone know if either the dme or JB logs a fault code I can read to see which cylinder the issue was on? Tulley BMW recently did plugs coils and one injector plus a walnut blast, so I'm guessing injector is to blame. If the dme has something it's stored as pending cuz no SES light

Love hate relationship with the N54!!!!
I have done plugs, coils and walnut blast......still noticing things on occasion. But damn the power is nice. GL with this man I am sure I will encounter it within the year
