11.807 @ 126.51 JB4 MAP 2 ER Downpipes

Went to New England Dragway tonight and did some quarter mile runs with the F80. Slips attached. Car is DCT. Running 100 Octane. Car has a JB4 Stage 2 (no EWG control) and ER downpipes. No other mods. On the left is MAP 7 which broke up a little ways before the finish line and threw a drivetrain malfunction cutting power. On the right is MAP 2 with no drivetrain malfunction. Also note this is only my second time to the drag strip, so my launch could use some work. No video because apparently camera's attached to your helmet is not allowed for some strange reason. If only I could get MAP 7 to not break up, a trap speed of 130 is not far fetched. Also find my dyno attached same exact configuration on MAP 2 (Mustang Dyno 436whp/467wtq).

Wow... that is a similar trap to the C7 Z06! Wow... great numbers. It is crazy how easily you can make the M into a seriously fast car... heck, it's seriously fast in stock form but this is really seriously fast

Not really great to me seeing a stock one ran 11.9 granted there are variables of course.

It's not about the time, it's about the trap. The trap is ~7mph faster than the fastest stock car. This car is just pulling away like a freight train from the stock car.

Launch not as good and not at ATCO.

Any insight on Map 7 stumbling? Was cooking at 1/8 mile for sure!

Keep in mind a few things. This is my first time to the strip in the F80 and I only ran four times total. Second, traction is a big problem. Completely stock, launch control works pretty well. With the JB4 it is extremely difficult to keep traction on these stock tires with launch control, so the ET time is harder to improve on than it should be. A set of 305's would fix that, but one thing at a time.

I've had ongoing issues with MAP 7 and EWG. When I originally installed the JB4 it was set-up as a Stage 3 install with EWG connected. MAP 7 worked perfectly fine. A day later, I got a drivetrain malfunction for Bank 2 EWG Slow Movement. It APPEARS that the connector on the JB4 is bad; or my car hates me. Since then with EWG disconnected, I can't get MAP 7 to work right. I don't know why, but it seems you need to have EWG connected to have MAP 7 work properly. Working on fixing it.

My goal is to be the first F8X over 130mph. Let's see what we can do!

Have you submitted any Logs to Terry regarding your issues with EWG and map 7? Hope it's nothing serious!

The 1/8 mph on map 7 is almost 5mph faster than the right slip. might be looking at a 130mph trap if everything went right.

Good job on the runs and thanks for sharing.

My thoughts exactly! With the EWG connected and MAP 7 not breaking up, 130+ trap speeds are plausible. Also looking into another set of tires to solve the traction issue.

Keep in mind a bone stock on C6 Z06 on runflats ran a 10.9 @ 129. Once owners get their new C7's and start heading to the track, I sure they will eclipse what GM is advertising.

OP, can you provide us with your shift point? Did you shift at red line or was it closer to 5900 as some others have said is ideal for a quick time.

Edit: Sick numbers, btw

I need to data-log next time, but as far as I remember it was redline first and second, shift at 6,000 third and up.

305/35r19 on stock rims

For a better time you could try a small tire
305 is a little to wide for the stock rim so I don't believe I'm getting all of the tire on the surface.

Try 285 or 295 should work better

Didn't do any track prep haha just showed up and drove. Next time should drop the pressure in the rear tires though.

Ended up buying a set of 275/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's. Should get me some more traction.

Sorry for the newbie question, but the 60 listed on the slip, is that your 0-60 time? If so, 2.1 is crazy FAST!!

That is not the 0-60, it's the 60 Foot time. Basically shows how well the car gets off the line - in my case not so good with no traction!

Haha yeah 2.1 to 60 is amazing but 2.1 60' not so much. I wonder how your car would do with tires.

Just as a note to original question. The guy who ran 11.1 on drag radials pulled a 1.6 60'.
