My 335i log
Hey all
New owner here from Perth. Picked up a 2008 335i M-Sport Have come from a background of Japanese cars so the 335i is a nice change. Cobb accessport and vrsf downpipes have been ordered and I'm getting a baseline dyno run next week. Looking into getting a lsd and wheels also. Should be good times ahead Last edited by aiball; 10-16-2014 at 02:51 AM.. |

Ordered these this morning:
18x8.5 +32 , 18x9.5 +30 The front's may need a spacer but will see how it goes. Planning on 235/265 tire combo with either advan ad08r or michelin pss. Has anyone tried the new ad08r? Also purchased the MFactory LSD This is getting expensive real quick...... |

Installed a k&n panel filter the other day, the original one was caked with dirty stuff. Also found a dead dragonfly in the airbox
Self explanatory to install, take a flat screwdriver and flick the latches off which exposes the filter. Also my Cobb accessport arrived, took around half an hour to install and to flash a stage 1 aggressive map. Definitely recommend having your battery on charge as the fuel pumps run continuously during the install. No pics for this but it was easy as taking the obd cover which is near the boot release button and then plugging in the cable. So with this stage 1 aggressive map netted 297 HP & 482Nm at the hubs. Torque fals off pretty fast and the stock turbos run out of puff at 5000. Hopefully with downpipes and intercooler the power band can shift a bit more to the left and perhaps the torque might hold on a bit more. Might also add that the wheel sizes that I was going to get had a 6month lead time .. no thanks. Ended up going a "bit" more aggressive. 18x9.5 +23 18x10.5 +30 The rears might need a spacer but will see how it goes. ETA 12 weeks Last edited by aiball; 10-22-2014 at 12:35 AM.. |

297hp is 221kw.
Isn't that a bit low for tune? I thought 335 was 200rwkw standard? |

N54's put out around 180kw's atw in oem guise (225kw at the fly) My car pulled 224kw atw with just a tune. It will be interesting to see those work rims mounted dude! |

Pity didn't do a power run without the Cobb flash but didn't want to be mucking around reverting back to stock and then flashing it again. In any case, if stock output is around 180kW then this flash gave about 22% which is in the ballpark of what Cobb advertises.
Bear in mind the car is literally stock, with only the panel filter and the ots flash. The rims will be fun to fit.. it should be ok though as people have done it before with slightly more aggressive rear offsets. Will need to suss out suspension before the rims arrive and do the fender rolling in advance as well. |

VRSF, quality is nice for the price.
The welds looks like it was done by hand cause it's not 100% perfect but overall presentation and finish is good. haha these Work wheels max out at 10.5 What are you running at the front? How hard was it to fit the 11s? I had a quick look, there's not that much fender to roll? Looks like the liner that will rub first? |
