M4 tires help

Hey all, question for you..

Currently on the M4 I am running the 19inch performance tires that come on the car which are
FRONTS 255-35 zr19
REARS 275-35 ZR19

My question is, I have a staggered set of winter tires that came off my old car that are not exactly the same width as the tires on the M4.. but I was told by a friend they might work on my M4 and get me through the winter..

The Winter tires I'm trying to fit on the M4 are
FRONTS 225-40 R19
REARS 255-35 r19

will they work?

Your front snows can't stretch to the 9.0 inch factory wheel. Rears could work, but are a bit of a stretch, too, on a 10in wide rim.

if the snows above worked on my e92 M3, couldn't they work on this m4?

235's are the smallest you can get on OEM 19's in the front. 255 in rear. Here is a guide that could help you.

that link doesn't work.

But if my winters worked on an e92 m3, doesn't that mean they could possibly work on my m4..?

It's not so much the car it's the rims. You might be able to get a rim no wider than 8.5 to fit on the car. 225's would fit on those rims. The link should work now.

Thnx for that link. I had posted previously trying to find that and never got a response. This was the exact site I was looking for.

29 in front 40 in rear. You wouldn't need that to answer your particular question though.

The reason they fit your E92 M is because the sizes of the wheels are:
19x8.5 ET 29
19x9.5 ET 23

On the F series M, the sizes of the wheels are:
19x9 ET 29
19x10 ET 40

That half inch difference in wheel width size is where you would run into problems mounting the smaller tires.

It is said that if you still HAVE the wheels and tires from the E92, then they would fit as long as you have the standard brakes.
