Clutch delay valve?
Thanks for all of your help, guys.
I just picked up my new M235i, which will be used as a daily driver. So far, it is awesome!! One question, however - I searched everywhere, and could not ascertain whether the M235i has a CDV or not? Driving the car, it feels different than my 135i, on which I replaced the CDV with a bored-out version. The M235i clutch does feel like there is some lag with clutch engagement, like there could well be a CDV in there Can anyone confirm/refute? I would be grateful for any input. Cheers!

Nobody? Almost 200 views, and nobody knows for certain whether the M235i has a CDV or not?
Bueller? Bueller?

It's not bad (tons better than the previous BMWs that we've owned), but it still bothers, somewhat. No big deal in the long run. Can you elaborate? I searched the parts diagrams on realoem.com, but could find nothing. Cheers!

I wonder how Sport/Sport+ mode would affect clutch take up? My impression is that the valve only allows fluid through at a set rate, or do you mean that the throttle response is changed, and the Sport mapping for the throttle suits heel and toeing better? Curious. Must go out and try it today. Thanks.

To me there's a noticeable clutch engagement feel between comfort and sport.
Which leads me to believe this guy who works for BMW that the CDV could be electronic and not mechanical like the 135i. |

I emailed Dave Z. at zeckhausen.com, who modify CDVs for most BMWs.
Awesome guy - he replied almost immediately, and said he believes that BMW has incorporated the CDV into the "Output cylinder" (see diagram below - part number 14). He also said he would bring in the part, and see if they could do a CDV delete on it. Wow, that's service. I'll post up anything else that I find. I don't find the CDV that intrusive, but if I could improve it somewhat, I'm all for it.

None that I have been able to discern.
I don't find the clutch action on the M235 to be as objectionable as our Z4 M Roadster, or the e92 M3, but I do still notice a bit of a lag in clutch engagement when trying to shift gears quickly. If I HAD to live with it, I'd be OK with it, I guess

Did you get the eBay/BSM clutch stop? That made the car SOO much nicer to drive! I installed mine without any of the additional washers...
