Question About Individual Colors

I know we all hate these threads because it should be my decision, but I would like to hear from people who've had Individual colors before. I'm deciding between a standard exterior color (BSM) and DCT for a cost of $3450 to my order, or going with 6MT and getting an Individual color to switch it up a little for a cost of $5000. I used to drive a 6MT SG E92 M3 and loved that color, but would not get grey again.

I love the 6MT because it is smooth (would like a little stiffer but its great for daily use); I don't mind driving it in traffic. I love the rawness. But I've never had DCT and was curious what everyone thinks of it on a daily use basis (driven DCT once before in an M6 and E92, not F80/82).

To those who have/had cars with Individual paint, was it worth the $5000 price tag?

Nothing to do with the colour - 6MT is so much more fun - it really fits the M4 perfectly!!!

Regarding individual paint - this is a question of the personal taste. I love my M4 in fire orange - the colour fits the car perfectly. for me personally it was worth the money.

But the fun in the car would be the same, if it is black or white

Having had a few indiv colors before and most likely will have a lot more in the future I can say its pretty cool having a color that is not seen all the time. When you goto meets or drive around town your car stands out (depending on color obv)

however this also works the same way the other way, having a indiv color makes you stand out

so what type of person are you?

The struggle lol I want to stand out, but this would be my daily driver and the attention could get old, especially from the jealous type.

Then I think, "A darker individual color like Techno Violet or Singapore gray would be cool and I won't stand out as much!" but then I debate if it would be worth the extra $$ for something subtle.

At the end of the day, I'm a manual guy so OP should go that route

See, I would get something different, on the subtle side. Nothing like Fire Orange or Hellrot Red (I love both of those colors but they are too loud for me). I am a 6mt guy normally but for both trying a new transmission and a little comfier on the daily usage, I was contemplating DCT. $2900 is a hefty price for a transmission, but then again so is $5k for paint

This will be a long and hard debate for me. I definitely plan on doing ED end of June 2015, same time my father is doing ED for his M6GC.

Speaking of which, I need to contact David about two ED orders tomorrow...

wait, individual paint is $5000? I thought it was $1950, according to this thread: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1007622

Nvm, the catalogue colors are $1950, anything else is $5000. Sounds like you want a unique but understated color, Tanzanite Blue is not bad FYI.
