Artificial exhaust note

Does the volume of the exhaust note that is piped into the cabin adjust with the volume control of the audio system?

I ask because I swear today I was running around with the radio off and it seemed like the engine pipe in was barely noticeable, even somewhat non existant through the speakers.

It's not the exhasut that's pumped in, I believe it's the Intake noise.

Wasn't trying to be short, just didn't want to get into a debate on where the synthesized noise was coming from. Too much of that already covered here. Just hoping I was able to reduce the volume.

I'm up for a debate. Tree falls. No one's there to hear it. Sound or no sound?

It depends on what kind of tree....like a family tree or an actual tree?

Sound of pipes vary with your settings from efficient, sport, or sport plus, efficient has less throttle response so therefore less pipe sound sooner. Check your settings

Yes, it does...

The ASD module mixes the sythesized engine sound with the iDrive audio outputs before the OEM amp in the standard HiFi system, inside the OEM amp in the HK system.

Volume of the ASD then depends of the volume of the OEM amp -which it is based on the iDrive volume knob.

Understand as well that OEM amp is still on, and at a minimum volume even when the iDrive volume is all the way down/muted. So engine sound may be heard albeit low level (depending on ASD parameters) during no iDrive volume conditions.

sound=energy waves that are produced. These occur regardless if there is a receptor(eardrum) for those waves. Sound is still there, just no ear.

Nonsense. Waves are still there. They aren't sound except to the ear/instrument that is able to perceive them.
