Are miles to service supposed to change?
For some reason mine do not, is there something wrong with my car?

Since I took it to the dealer and they reset some things, which was at 800 miles ago....

Remember, it's condition-based, so if you aren't too hard on the car it allows more leeway and a greater interval and theoretically you could go awhile without seeing the interval drop. I believe that "not too hard" is a matter of the length of your drives, average speed and the like - i.e. stop/go city driving and short drives where operating temperature isn't reached are harder conditions and will eat away at the interval faster compared with road trips and longer highway drives.

I've only seen mine change in 1,000 mile intervals.
Since I only drive the car Monday through Friday to work 3.8 miles each way, half of it at under 25 MPH, my service interval has dropped to 6,000 miles. |

Mine changes in 1000 kilometre increments. I am pretty easy on my car and it doesn't move often! Condition based. BMW Canada changes oil once a year regardless and that is what I do.

I ignore mine and just change the oil/filter myself every 5K and/or at least twice per year. I have over 120K bullet-proof miles on my 07 328 and don't plan to do anything differently at this point. Maybe if I ever get around to leasing I'll follow the maintenance minder, but since I own it, I like the peace of mind of doing it more often.

I took my car in 2 months ago for the first oil change. Since then my display has always been showing 7000 miles and 11/14 for next service every time I start the car. Not worrying about it since oil was changed 2 months ago. If it still shows the same after 6 months, I'll look into it.

Interesting that it's progressive and changes with how hard you are on the car. Similar to DTE then - if your DTE is based on your average city driving and then you go for a long freeway trip, you could see your DTE stay steady as your average MPG increases, until it hits the tipping point and starts dropping again.
