12.03 1/4 mile run Bone stock M3!
First time at the track. Was a busy night so was only able to get 3 runs in. Overall I feel pretty good about my times. I would have broke into the 11's if I would of remembered to adjust my tire pressure so I could hook up a lil better, but this time was done at 31psi, 93 oct gas, no mods, with a miss shift from 2nd to 3rd. I thought that I was shifting since I did launch control and was in manual mode, but the car shifted and so did I and instead of going into 2nd the car skipped and went to third. Next week I will deff get into the 11's.

Sounds like he double shifted, once automatically by the car and once himself.
I'd say it would sound completely implausible to run 12 flat while totally skipping 2nd gear. But I've driven the car on a road course and the torque in 3rd gear is tremendous and it pulls really hard even from 30-40 mph.

You need to be in manual (S) mode to be able to engage launch control. But as long as launch control is activated, DCT will upshift automatically. It is a bit counter intuitive. Launch control will deactivate if you shift manually or slightly lift off the throttle pedal as to disengage the "kickdown" button. |

Note that DCT will downshift automatically even in S mode when the RPM drop to low to avoid bogging down the engine. |

you probably just learned the bmw in house trick iam sure the boost is higher in 3ed gear vs 2nd. thats how you run low times, or dont shift at red line to run 12 sec 1/4 mile runs.
