Paint contamination
I'm trying to clean up my wife's Alpine White X5. In the first picture you can see tiny little spots that looks almost like rust and then the second picture shows where the white bumper has turned to off-color. It's a diesel, so it could be soot/carbon
Going over with a clay bar didn't work. Used Meguiars ultimate compound (applied by hand don't have a polisher) that didn't work either. I've ordered a bottle of IronX, but not sure if that will take care of this. Last edited by mad_max; 11-09-2014 at 01:26 PM.. |

Sorry, didn't mean that... Haha, meant let us know what you do to get this corrected lol.
Did you try Iron X, Polishing? I actually have some of these on the front of my F80, I am getting it detailed/ Coated. Hopefully they will disappear |

Just washed my m3 and found what looks to be the same orange spots. It took about 50 passes before these little suckers came off. Some took more effort than others.
Anyone know what these are? |

Same here. It's much worse if you park near airports (I worked near DAL) and/or track (lots of brake dust and rotor dust)
It's heaviest behind the wheels and on the rear bumper, also the trailing edges of the front fenders. I needed to do three passes of Iron X to get it where it wasn't turning purple anymore. Then I clayed after to really get that crap out. |
