E93 White Residue on Top

I just noticed a white residue on the rubber sealing the gaps in my E93 top. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm worried it's a wax-type residue ... but I haven't waxed my own car yet! Plain car wash soap couldn't cause that, could it?

It does seem to be coming off fairly easy, so that's a good sign. It's just weird that it's only on the E93 specific rubber moldings. None of the of the standard rubber. Maybe they forgot to put tape there or something?
