Stock N54 with Cobb AP3 Stage 1 Aggressive
Hi guys,
I'm running a 2007 E90 with a stock N54. Searched pretty thoroughly but I'm struggling to find dyno figures for an N54 where the only mod is a Cobb AP3. I really want to keep the engine bay looking totally standard, (have had conflicting experiences with DCIs in the sense they breathe in a lot of hot engine bay air) so am happy to just run with a high flow panel filter for now. I only ever run 93 octane and really just want to install the stage 1 aggressive tune. How many out there are running just the Cobb on this tune and have had dyno runs done? Cobb's website quotes typical figures of 30% increase in power and 38% increase in torque but I'm keen to get some anecdotal figures! Thanks, Rob |

I ran a stage 1 Agg. Cobb tune for a while then upgrade my FMIC and went to another tune. The stage 1 Agg. and it was incredible. Don't bother w/ the DCI...waste of $$ IMO. Some have dynoed and actually lost power. A panel filter should suffice.

Dyno numbers vary by the car, temperature in the environment, and type of dyno used so take dynos with a grain of salt. The most important thing to compare is the % of power gained from stock.
With that said, if you really cared about getting the most hp, you would add more than just a tune. A tune-only set up on 93 will give you a very noticeable bump in power but nothing astonishing.

Thanks guys - definitely not immune to wanting more power. I figure the stage 1 aggressive will do for the time being and then further down the track can add a bigger intercooler and downpipes as funds permit.

The first cheapest and easiest mod I would do would be the DCI. Some people hate them but its hard to argue with the amount of people running over 400whp with the intakes on. You can get scoops and leave part of the stock intake on to provide fresh air to the intakes. I would recommend them for the price and sound.

Dyno numbers will vary from one dyno to another but the gains between stock and stage 1 aggressive are around 60 whp
