Discounts
Hi,
Currently in an F30 and considering a switch to F10, so was wondering what discounts should be achievable, I would be going m sport and probably 3.0d, adding a few extras along the way, current discounts in terms of BMW/Dealer contribution is aporox 14%,, is there more to be had given the "age" of this current design ? Cheers, cr55

17.5% getting the dealer to better carfile.net's price. Depending on your perseverance, the spec you want and willingness to walk away until you get the price you want, you could potentially secure a slightly bigger discount.
Competition in this segment is fierce and there are discounts to be had on the A6, the E-Class and the F10/F11. ----- Paul |

Remember to just be honest, say to the dealer that you want the best price he will do, because you WILL be playing him off against another (different chain) dealer. At the end of the day, all dealers buy the car from BMW at the same price. You should also get the Snake oil thrown in for free. Tell them you don't want the flowers upon collection either.

Would discount usually also factor on the options? I notice that the calc I have from Broadspeed doesn't.
Had an initial discussion with my dealer and he was saying for a 530d £4,000 and dependent on spec perhaps another £3,000. Which against the spec I have is only 12.28%. When I next go back I will be taking the "chief negotiator" (my Wife) who has no shame when it comes to haggling.

Thanks, it was the initial kick off before my wife kicks off with the hardball.
We also have two dealers in town, so we can play them off each other. Planning for that, I've been speaking to the one we don't use for Servicing, so we can go to the one we do and say "the other lot are offering this, you do our servicing so you'll get that revenue, so what can you do?"

I managed 22% off a 535d (list £56k for £43k) in Aug for Oct delivery. Might depend on the time of year you do it but they price matched Drivethedeal.com - I had two dealers offer the same.

Guys, it would be useful to state how much (if any finance) you purchased when buying your car, as well as the percentage discount you achieved. Bigger discounts are always going to be available to buyers prepared to take finance vs buyers paying cash, as BMW will make money on selling finance.

Mine was a straight cash purchase and no trade in so a straightforward discount of 22+%. I don't think BMW give an extra discount for finance - unlike Jaguar & Audi.

They offered more discount on my F30 when I chose finance. Can't remember the exact figures but finance was more beneficial in the end anyway...

Take the finance and if you are able to, pay the finance off on the day of delivery.

I think it depends on their sales targets for the quarter though and how much they need the sale to make their dealership quota - and how much discount BMW are giving them at the time. I could have had a very good deal on a 7 Series & I suspect you could get even better now with the replacement coming next year. |

One thing to point out, is that Drivethedeal's BMW dealer had their allocation full, so the last time I checked (last week) their weren't doing BMWs.
It's down to timing, we're getting close to end of the quarter (if not the end of the year) which is good, but also it's the right period to order for a 15 plate (which may count against discount). When we bought our 3 it was the last weekend of that financial year (and we were buying one of those highly specced 8 month old ex BMW fleet cars). We're not in a rush

Well Guy wasn't shifting much.
14.8% was his best offer. He wasn't interested in haggling and didn't want to do any trade in. It was like we were an irritation between him and his Christmas holidays, so we walked away.
